What a life well lived! Howard was my 10th grade English teacher and even then projected that "certain demeanor", a God-given attribute to those specially chosen for community change. From my family to his: thanks for sharing a son, brother, father, grandfather,and husband for a lifetime! |

I just want to say to the
family that i am going miss Howard dearly. I will
remember all of our conversations in spanish and our
lessons of the birds. I will also remember all of the
jokes and laughter we shared. Never bad memories, only
the best! I will keep you all in my prayers and I will
long for the day where I will be able to see you again.

To the family of the late Bro. Howard B.Stroud.Where as in love an infinite wisdom God has sent his death angel into the Stroud family this time releasing from suffering, and calling into that new and larger life the gentle spirit of our beloved cousin Howard B. Stroud.I take this moment to express our feelings, that we assure the family and relatives that they have our deepest sympathy. I Mable will always cherish our child-hood days. family reunions and school reunions. Howard worked the work of him while it was day for he knew night was coming and he would soon be on his way. . Howard Stroud was a real leader and a fine gentleman. I interacted with him on some local boards and always found him to be knowledgeable, courteous and contributing. . Howard Stroud did much for Athens and this entire area. His legacy is enormous. . |

Mrs. Bettye and the Stroud family, I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Stroud through my job at Athens Regional Medical Center. He was such a gentleman,who spoke softly. He had a calmness about him that made others feel very comfortable in his presence. I will surely miss him. May God be with you all during this most difficult time. He's now one of God's angels |

To Bettye,
Howard,Jr.,Kiesha and the entire Stroud Family we are
deeply saddened of the loss of our beloved Burnett. Our
condolences to our family and know that our memories are
treasures we will behold for years to come. Burnett was
a extra extraordinary man who always made you feel loved
in his presence. He was a mentor to many,because he
received great mentoring through his father,grandfathers
and uncles, who were men of valor and leaders in our
family and community. He only displayed what he was
taught,we thank him and love him for the quality. We was
able to tell him at the 2006 Stroud Family Reunion in
Virginia Beach where he was honored, we will truly miss
him. Our family want to encourage you to keep his
memories alive. God will keep him with us forever. Much
