"Mr. Stroud" was a name used with respect and regard during my years at Lyons Middle (1971-3). He was a gentleman, a leader, and a very kind man. My condolences at your loss. May your faith and your wealth of good memories sustain you.

I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to the Stroud family. I attended Lyons Middle School where Mr. Stroud served as principle. He was such an outstanding Man. Words cannot express, how he touched and help mold my life.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Stroud Family today. Mr. Stroud was our principle at Lyons Middle School way back when.. He was a "for the kids" guy. Athens has lost another treasure.

We are honored to be the first to sign this guest book. However, we know
that before long there will be pages and pages of tributes for cousin
Howard. He was a wonderful man and so well known in the Athens area
that he will be remembered and missed by many. He touched a lot of
lives in his lifetime and many have gone on to be successful and
productive citizens because of him.

As family, we certainly had a great time with him at our last family reunion in Oakland, CA. Howard and Betty were there and it was a grand time had by all. We are coming up to our family reunion again in August in Seattle, WA. But it will be different for us this time because Howard won't be there physically but in spirit. So on behalf of the entire Barnett family, we extend to cousin Betty our sincere condolences. Betty, we love you and we loved Howard. Please let us know if there is anything we can do in the days ahead as we remember and celebrate Howard's life.
Love You Always,
Cousins Hattie, Mattie and Angie
